The Causeway Shantymen

Tomorrow evening, Bushmills will come alive with the thunderous harmonies of The Causeway Shantymen, the rugged North Coast crew whose stirring sea songs have captured hearts across the borough and further afield. The event, now officially sold out, promises an uplifting celebration of International Men’s Day, blending music, camaraderie and community spirit.

Since forming in 2023, the group has become known for performances that get pulses racing and voices singing along. More than entertainers, they are driven by a powerful mission: to support men’s mental health, wellbeing and connection. Through the revival of traditional sea shanties, they counter rural isolation and use the timeless therapeutic power of song to bring communities together.

Attendees can look forward to a highly interactive evening, including:

  • Hearing the very first shanty they ever performed

  • Trying their hand at singing like a seasoned shantyman

  • Sharing stories, laughter and the camaraderie behind their music

  • Experiencing the impact of 22 voices rising in unison

With festival appearances at Stendhal, Foyle Maritime and Rathlin Sounds, The Causeway Shantymen bring adventure, friendship and an infectious energy to every stage they grace. Expect toe-tapping rhythms, rollicking refrains and a spirited celebration that lifts every heart in the room.

The voyage begins Wednesday 19th November, 7–9pm, at MacNaghten Hall, The Courthouse Bushmills, 71 Main Street.

An evening of music, connection and fun awaits those lucky enough to hold a ticket.
