Seasons Of The Glens Wins Social Enterprise Of The Year Award

Seasons of the Glens CIC has been named Social Enterprise of the Year in the up to £500,000 category at an awards ceremony in Belfast.

The social enterprise, which supports local businesses and community initiatives across the Causeway Coast and Glens, received the award at the Crowne Plaza on Friday evening.

It was also highly commended in two further categories: the Outstanding Team Award and Best Use of Social Media.

Seasons of the Glens operates through retail, gifting, artisan food production and event services, reinvesting surplus profits to support its community aims.

Its work includes helping businesses in the food, drink, creative and tourism sectors reach customers through markets, retail opportunities and events.

A spokesperson for Seasons of the Glens said: “While much of our work happens behind the scenes, our team plays a huge part in making NNCG’s markets possible. From planning and organising to equipment, logistics and everything else that goes into delivering a market, there’s an incredible amount of work involved that people don’t always see.

“Alongside this, we’re continuing to develop our own projects and services, creating new opportunities and helping to build a more sustainable future for the work we do.”

The organisation also supports rural diversification, provides training and mentorship, and helps reduce event costs for not-for-profit organisations.

Surplus profits are reinvested through its own initiatives and contributions to NNCG, supporting local markets, community events and the preservation of local food, craft and heritage.

The spokesperson paid tribute to those involved in delivering its work.

“We’re a small team, and to receive this recognition really does mean a lot. It’s a reflection of the dedication, hard work and true collaboration of our staff, board members and volunteers. Without them, we simply couldn’t do what we do, and everyone who has worked with us or supported us along the way has contributed to this achievement.”

They also congratulated fellow finalists and winners and thanked Social Enterprise NI for organising the evening.

“Congratulations to all the finalists and winners! It was fantastic to see so many brilliant social enterprises from across Northern Ireland being recognised for the difference they’re making in their communities.

“And thank you to Social Enterprise NI for a fantastic evening as always celebrating the work of the sector.”
