Shortbread has taken flight in Coleraine – quite literally. Delicate biscuits in the shape of hummingbirds have returned to Rocca, located on Bridge Street, with all proceeds going towards mental health support.

The sweet treats are part of a campaign by Hummingbird, an innovative non-profit organisation based in Northern Ireland. Led by individuals with lived experience, Hummingbird is committed to delivering practical mental health skills and measurable support across the region.

Originally debuting at Stormont during the launch of Hummingbird Causeway in May – a poignant start to Mental Health Awareness Week – the biscuits quickly became a symbol of hope and resilience. Now, they're back, turning heads once again. Even #TheOpen is struggling to compete with their local popularity.

The biscuits are available exclusively at Rocca in Coleraine, in exchange for what’s being dubbed a ‘Major’ donation – a gentle nod to the nearby golfing action and a reminder that, when it comes to mental health, every contribution counts.

Heather Henry, owner of Rocca, said:
"We’re proud to support Hummingbird and everything they stand for. Mental health affects so many people, and it’s important to open up those conversations – even if it starts with a biscuit. The local response has been incredible, and we’re just delighted to be part of something so meaningful."
