Pure Thai Sauces Make Second Appearance At Coleraine’s Causeway Speciality Market This Month

Pure Thai Sauces, a family-run artisan condiment company, has returned to Coleraine’s Causeway Speciality Market for the second time this month.

After being overwhelmed by enthusiastic customers purchasing their bottles in early April, William and Malairat Muir rushed back to meet the surging demand and delight even more visitors.

“We’re a family business,” says William, who co-founded Pure Thai Sauces with his Thai-born wife, Malairat. “Between us, we have a lifetime’s passion for Thai cuisine. Our aim is simply to bring genuine, handcrafted flavours to Northern Ireland.”

Their stall offers taste samples of four sauces – Tamarind & Chilli, Thai Sweet Chilli, Seafood and Thai Tamarind – all produced using key ingredients imported from Thailand. “We use Thai products to keep everything as authentic as possible,” William explains. “Our sauces complement Northern Ireland’s excellent local produce, whether it’s beef, pork, chicken, seafood or vegetables.”

Pure Thai Sauces has built a following on the artisan circuit, featuring at events such as Comber Earlies Food Show, Bangor Chilli Festival, and St George’s Market, and sharing updates with home cooks via their Instagram page, @PureThaiSauces. Their customers are those who cook at home and appreciate bold, exotic flavours.

Looking ahead, the Muirs plan to trade at the Causeway Speciality Market throughout the summer and hope to expand into new venues. “We’d love more people to taste our products,” adds Malairat.

Causeway Speciality Market was established in 2006, and operates on the second Saturday of every month, with a number of extra markets throughout the year, in the events space at Coleraine Town Hall in the heart of the town. The market operates from 9am to 4pm.
