Plans Submitted To Redevelop Former Three Oaks Bar Site Into Seven Homes
Apr 17, 2026
Plans have been put forward to redevelop a long-derelict site in Aghadowey into new housing.
The proposal relates to lands at the former Three Oaks Bar and adjoining commercial buildings at 101 Mullaghinch Road. The site, which has been vacant for a number of years, has suffered significant fire damage and deterioration and is described as detracting from the surrounding area.
The application seeks permission to replace the disused buildings with seven dwellings. The homes would include associated garages, parking provision and private amenity space as part of a single, coordinated development.
According to the supporting planning statement, the redevelopment would involve removing obsolete commercial structures and reducing the overall built footprint, with the aim of improving the site's integration into the existing rural cluster.
The document also highlights that the site sits within an established group of buildings and has previously benefited from residential planning approval, which is considered a key factor in supporting the principle of housing on the land.
