Plans Submitted For Extension Of Gym In Ballymoney
Sep 09, 2025
Plans have been lodged for the extension of a gym in Ballymoney’s Townhead Street.
An application has been submitted to Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for the redevelopment of a former retail unit at 4A Townhead Street.
According to a Design and Access Statement prepared by Studio Rogers, the site sits within the town centre as defined in the Northern Area Plan (2016). The proposal, it said, would “revitalise a vacant property”.
“The land use is in keeping with surrounding properties and is integrated within the area’s pattern of development,” the statement added. “Proposed works involve no changes to the external or internal layout of the existing building.”
Access to the site would continue via Townhead Street, with the facility expected to be used primarily by private car users and pedestrians.
The applicant is Kenneth Barkley.
