Plans have been submitted for the construction of a new ceremony room and the relocation of the existing pagoda structure at Roe Valley Resort, 10 Lisnakilly Road, Limavady.

The proposal, prepared by Fleming Mounstephen Planning Ltd, aims to enhance the popular wedding and hospitality destination’s facilities while maintaining the historic and natural character of the resort’s setting.

The proposed ceremony room will be built adjacent to the existing hotel complex within the resort’s 63-hectare grounds. Currently, wedding ceremonies are held in the hotel’s main function room. The new purpose-built venue will provide a dedicated space for ceremonies, improving the experience for guests and supporting the resort’s role in the local and regional tourism economy.

Careful consideration has been given to heritage and landscape integration. The new glass-and-metal pavilion-style building is designed to sit lightly within the landscaped gardens, screened by mature trees to minimise visual impact on the listed Georgian Roe Park House and surrounding countryside. The relocated pagoda structure will also be set back to preserve key views and reduce clutter along the approach route.

According to the planning submission, the development aligns with the Northern Area Plan 2030 and relevant heritage and tourism policies. It represents a modest extension to the existing hotel, contributing to sustainable tourism growth and continued investment in the Roe Valley Resort, which is part of a wider £20 million improvement programme.
