Outdoor Clothing Retailer Mountain Warehouse To Open Portrush Store

Outdoor clothing retailer Mountain Warehouse is set to open a new store in Portrush.

The British retailer specialises in clothing and equipment for outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, skiing, cycling, running and fitness.

Founded in 1997 by Mark Neale, the company has grown from a single outlet store to more than 330 locations across the UK, Europe, New Zealand and North America.

Mountain Warehouse also operates stores in Dublin, Vienna, and Warsaw.

The company was originally established as the retail partner of Karrimor International.

Speaking about the upcoming opening, Northern Regional Manager Allan Gray said: “Delighted to say we are opening our most northerly store in wonderful Portrush. This will be our 18th store on the island of Ireland and seventh store in Northern Ireland after we open in Belfast next week.”

Mark Fielding welcomed the announcement, describing it as a positive addition for the town and wider area.

He said: “It is fantastic to see another recognised retailer choosing to invest in Portrush. This is a strong vote of confidence in the town and the wider Causeway Coast as a destination for both residents and visitors.”
