This July, the North Coast steps back into the global spotlight as the 153rd Open Championship returns to Royal Portrush. From 13–20 July 2025, the world’s finest golfers will take to the legendary Dunluce Links – and thousands of fans will arrive to witness sporting history.

But while The Open brings the world to our doorstep, we – the local businesses, residents and communities – want to share one clear message:

We’re open. Portrush is open. Our neighbouring towns and villages are open.

From Portstewart to Coleraine, Ballymoney to Bushmills and right along the stunning Causeway Coast, our streets, shops, hotels, cafés, restaurants, pubs, and attractions will be full of life – welcoming locals and visitors. Whether you’re here for the golf, the scenery, or just a bit of time out, you’ll find us open, vibrant and ready to go.

And we haven’t left anything to chance. Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council – along with key partners such as Translink, Tourism NI, PSNI, DFI have been working hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. With clear signage, park-and-ride systems, local access plans - getting around will be as easy as a tap-in putt.

Local businesses are rising to the occasion with extended opening hours, special deals, and Open-themed celebrations across the area. Behind every shopfront is a local person or family proud to share what makes this part of the world so unique.
