A Northern Ireland dance school has returned from Blackpool with an impressive haul of national titles after competing at the Dance Inspirations National Final.
Icon Street Dance sent three crews to the competition, which brought together top-scoring teams from heats across the UK and Ireland. The event is regarded as one of the most competitive fixtures in the national dance calendar.
Across the weekend, Icon Street Dance secured a clean sweep of the podium places in both hip hop and commercial group categories, an outcome the organisers described as highly unusual given the standard of competition.
In the 9 to 12 age category, Jcrew took first place, followed by BoogieStorm in second and Icrew in third. The success continued in the 13 to 18 category, where Dynasty claimed the top spot, with Mayhem finishing second and Alliance third.
Strong results were also recorded in the solo, duo and trio categories. Patrick secured second place in the 9 to 11 hip hop and commercial solo division. JP won first place in the 9 to 12 duo and trio category, while Macey, Jude and Charlotte finished second.
In the 13 to 18 duo and trio category, Triple Threat claimed first place, with Zuzanna, Brooke and Erin finishing third. Ace took second place in the 18-plus duo and trio section.
Several Icon Street Dance acts were also recognised among the highest scoring performances of the entire competition. Triple Threat and Zuzanna, Brooke and Erin were named among the top ten highest scoring trios, while Mayhem, Alliance and Dynasty were listed in the top ten highest scoring groups overall.
JP was awarded a producers’ wildcard, and Triple Threat went on to finish eighth overall in the grand final, placing them among the top ten acts across all categories.
The weekend concluded with two special awards for the school, including the Choreography Award and the Spirit of Dance Inspirations Award, which recognises performance quality, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Speaking after the event, representatives from Icon Street Dance praised the commitment of the dancers and acknowledged the support of families who travelled to Blackpool for the finals.
The results mark one of the most successful national outings to date for the studio, reinforcing its growing reputation on the UK and Ireland competitive dance circuit.
