New Science Block Proposed For Causeway Academy In Coleraine

Plans have been put forward for a new modular science block at Causeway Academy in Coleraine.
The proposed building at 14 Carthall Road would provide two science classrooms and associated rooms, covering 258 square metres.
It would be built on an existing hard play area, with a replacement 669-square-metre play area provided alongside it, enclosed by 1.8-metre-high fencing.
According to an Education Authority planning statement, the additional accommodation is needed for the newly formed integrated school. The former Coleraine College campus serves as its main site during an initial amalgamation phase involving three campuses.
The statement says existing access and parking arrangements would remain unchanged, with no increase in pupil enrolment or staffing associated with the proposal.
The building would sit below the height of the existing school and approximately 30 metres from the nearest neighbouring boundary.
