New Podcast Exploring Royal Portrush & The Causeway Coast Captivates Global Audience
Jun 03, 2025
A new podcast celebrating the people, stories, and energy building around the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush has made an impressive debut.
Causeway Cast – All Roads Lead to Portrush, now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and the official website, has already drawn thousands of listeners from around the world just days after its launch.
Hosted by Chris Arthur, the podcast goes beyond the fairways to explore how the region is preparing for one of the biggest sporting events of the year. From bustling businesses gearing up for the crowds to candid conversations with insiders at Royal Portrush, locals, and visiting fans, the series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the unique atmosphere taking shape along the Causeway Coast.
The inaugural episode features Gerry McAleese of Royal Portrush, tracing the club’s 137-year journey from its Victorian roots to its re-emergence as a world-class venue for The Open Championship. The first episode can be listened to here.
As the series unfolds, Causeway Cast aims to capture the full picture of this historic moment — not just the championship itself, but the ripple effect it has on the people and places around it. Each episode will delve into the excitement, challenges, and community spirit that define the region in the lead-up to July.
Episode two drops tonight at 9pm and features Dr. Rory McCartney, the clubhouse convenor, where we will glimpse behind the scenes and hear how the pride and championship standards really make Royal Portrush so special.
