Planners have given the green light for a new footbridge to be built at Roe Valley Country Park in Limavady.

The 1.8-metre wide structure, stretching 14 metres in length, will span a landslide that has cut off one of the park's main walking routes. The path has remained closed since the incident, limiting access for both visitors and maintenance staff.

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA), which applied, said the bridge will play a crucial role in reinstating the route and ensuring safe passage through the affected area.

Roe Valley Country Park, situated at 41 Dogleap Road, is a well-known beauty spot attracting walkers, families, and tourists year-round.

The new bridge is expected to improve safety and restore full connectivity across the park’s network of trails, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
