Mini Show Set To Return To West Bay, Portrush This August

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council's Land and Property Sub-Committee has recommended waiving car parking charges for the Causeway Coast Mini Club event at West Bay car park in Portrush.

The decision, made during a recent committee meeting, concerns the Mini Show scheduled for 31st August 2025.

The annual event attracts thousands of visitors and locals to the Portrush area, bringing significant footfall to the popular seaside resort during the summer season.

Following a proposal by Councillor McCully, seconded by Alderman Fielding, the committee agreed to recommend the fee waiver to Council.

The approval comes with three specific conditions:

• Confirmation that concessionary traders at West Bay car park remain on site during the event
• Council's service provider Car Park Services Ltd. must be informed to cease enforcement patrols during the event
• The applicant must liaise with Estates to gain access to West Bay car park due to the new height barrier

The Chair noted the event's spectator value, its ability to attract visitors from the mainland, and its charitable element as factors in the decision.

The recommendation will now proceed to full Council for final approval.
