Historic Spanish galleon to dock in Coleraine this July

A full-size replica of a 17th-century Spanish galleon is set to visit Coleraine later this month, offering visitors the opportunity to step aboard one of history's most iconic sailing ships.

El Galeón Andalucía will be berthed at Riversdale Quay, Coleraine Harbour, from 15 to 19 July, with access via the main gate at the Rose Gardens.

The vessel is a faithful recreation of the Spanish galleons that sailed between the 16th and 18th centuries, transporting goods and connecting Spain with the Americas and the Philippines via the historic trade routes of the Indies.

Visitors will be able to explore the ship and learn more about the role these vessels played in global maritime trade and exploration.

The attraction is a ticketed event, with advance booking available online.
