Green Light For New Drive-Thru & Filling Station Development In Ballymoney

Planning permission has been granted for the development of a new filling station and drive-thru coffee outlet at a vacant site on Castle Street in Ballymoney.

The site, formerly home to commercial premises, has remained empty for several years. In 2020, approval was given for a petrol filling station with eight pumps, a retail unit, and new access arrangements from Castle Street, including a dedicated right-turn lane.

The latest application, submitted by  LCC Group Ltd, reimagines the scheme with a more streamlined design. The approved plan includes an eight-bay unmanned petrol filling station, alongside a 65-square-metre drive-thru coffee shop. The previously proposed retail and office spaces have been dropped from the development.

Associated features such as car parking, landscaping, and access improvements are also included in the plans.

The project marks a shift in focus for the site, emphasising convenience and modernisation, and aligns with growing consumer demand for quick-service facilities and unmanned fuel stations.

Construction timelines have not yet been confirmed.
