Gray’s Boutique Hotel & Brasserie in Bushmills is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Orr as its new Hotel General Manager.
Andrew joins Gray’s with a wealth of experience in hospitality management, operations, and team leadership, and will play a key role in developing and growing this elegant local business at the heart of the Causeway Coast community.
In his new role, Andrew, who has lived locally since 2006 will oversee the continued growth of Gray’s as a leading destination for luxury stays and exceptional dining. He will also oversee the planned expansion of Gray's further elevating the experience for both guests and local residents.
A Legacy of Hospitality
Perfectly situated on a hillcrest overlooking the Causeway Coast, Gray’s at Bushmills embodies elegance, comfort, and relaxation. With seventeen individually styled bedrooms, a renowned Brasserie, and stunning views, Gray’s is a perfect blend of Irish hospitality, history, and culinary excellence.
The hotel carries a deeply personal story. Named after Ellen “Nellie” Gray, grandmother of the current proprietor, Gray’s pays tribute to Nellie’s enduring love for the Causeway Coast, its people, its scenery, and its spirit. Born in 1901 near Randalstown, Nellie spent many happy days in Portstewart, Portrush, and Bushmills, returning time and again to enjoy the beauty and warmth of the area. Her legacy lives on through Gray’s, a place that celebrates her passion for this special part of Northern Ireland.
Located at 306 Whitepark Road, Bushmills, BT57 8SL, Gray’s continues to build upon that legacy, combining heartfelt local character with the very best in modern comfort and service.
Andrew Orr: Leadership and Experience
Andrew brings more than 30 years of experience in hospitality and operations management, with an impressive record of success across hotels, restaurants, and large-scale venues. Most recently, as Hospitality Manager at Dobbies Garden Centres, he led the setup, recruitment, and training for a 500-cover dining and coffee shop concept at the UK’s largest Dobbies Garden Centre in Antrim.
Andrew also spent 14 years with Whitbread and its Premier Inn Brand, progressing through senior management roles across Northern Ireland. His responsibilities included overseeing multiple hotel and restaurant sites, leading large teams, and shaping operational and commercial strategies. Earlier in his career, Andrew gained valuable experience at Marine Hotel Ballycastle, Hastings Hotels, and Clandeboye Lodge Hotel, giving him an in-depth understanding of both the local market and the high standards expected in premium hospitality and events also.
Known for his strategic vision and hands-on approach, Andrew is passionate about team development, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. His expertise covers leadership, food safety, risk management, and financial performance, all built on a foundation of professionalism and attention to detail.
