Every year, the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival draws foodies, locals, and festival-goers to the heart of Bushmills, celebrating the area's rich food and drink heritage. This year, there's an exciting new addition that you won't want to miss - The Salmon Shack by Tartine at Distillers Arms. 

An Exciting New Addition

Long-time contributor Chef Patron Gary Stewart of Tartine at Distiller's Arms is bringing something fresh and mouth-watering to the festival scene with the launch of The Salmon Shack. Situated beside the entrance to Tartine at the Distillers Arms, The Salmon Shack promises to bring tasty fresh salmon delicacies to the heart of this year's festivities.

Here's a sneak peek at what you can expect from The Salmon Shack:

Ewing’s smoked salmon

Festival attendees can purchase Ewings smoked salmon, an award-winning delicacy, to take home. Ewings Fishmongers dates back to 1911 and is a firm favourite with quality restaurants throughout Northern Ireland and beyond. Whether you plan to enjoy it on its own or incorporate it into your culinary creations, this smoked salmon is a crowd-pleaser. And what's better than bringing a taste of the festival home with you in conveniently portioned retail packs?

Salmon Bites

For those who love to snack while browsing the main street or en route to Old Bushmills Distillery for a whiskey tasting, The Salmon Shack offers delicious salmon bites. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, these bites are a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in a quick yet satisfying treat. Served with truffle mayo and a squeeze of lemon, they are dangerously moreish!

Seafood Chowder

Warm up with a comforting bowl of Chef Gary's multi-award-winning seafood chowder, made with the freshest local ingredients. This hearty dish is perfect for warding off the chill while exploring everything the festival offers.

Take advantage of all the delicious offerings from The Salmon Shack by Tartine during the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival. It is conveniently located beside Tartine at Distillers Arms and will open for takeaway on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th, 2024. Pop in and grab something delicious to take away and enjoy!   

Team Tartine embraces the festival spirit with an impressive programme of activities.

The Salmon Shack is only one of the many experiences offered by the talented team at Tartine this year. On Friday 4th, October 2024, the festival gets off to a great start with Bushmills Supper Club, a collaborative event bringing together the talents of Chef Gary Stewart and Chef Robert Curley of the Slemish Market Supper Club. This is a unique opportunity to experience the best of Bushmills with innovative locally sourced food, carefully chosen wines, and warm hospitality in one unforgettable evening. On Saturday, the 5th, the Salmon Shack will open for business, and Chef Gary Stewart will be at Sharvagh House Cookery Area,  cooking up a storm in a demonstration from 12pm to 1pm.

That is not all; in support of the Bushmills Taste trail, Tartine at Distillers Arms is open all weekend, including Saturday lunch from 12 to 3 pm. Reservations are recommended, and be sure to order their specials. To book online, click here. 

Sunday 6th is an even busier day for the Tartine Team, with the Salmon Shack open for delicious takeaway, the popular Seafood Chowder stall as part of the Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market popping up for the day near the entrance to Sharvagh House Cookery Demo Kitchen. Chef Tyler Campbel represents Tartine by demonstrating a dish very close to his heart at the Sharvagh House cooking demo kitchen from 2.30 pm.

Tyler is a young up and coming chef who, supported by his mentor Gary Stewart, is a joy to watch. He will be linking in with Chef and Riso Gallo UK brand ambassador Gary Guiney. Come support Chef Tyler!
