Danske Bank Gets Green Light For New Coleraine Branch

Planning permission has been granted for a new Danske Bank branch and office space at 33 The Diamond in Coleraine — a site formerly home to the First Trust Bank.

The approved plans include a full internal fit-out across several floors, transforming the building into a modern banking and office facility. As part of the development, the existing rear flat roof will be raised to increase internal ceiling height, with the parapet wall also adjusted to suit the new design.

Danske Bank UK, which submitted the application, says the refurbishment will deliver an enhanced customer experience and upgraded facilities for staff.

Fit-out work is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with completion scheduled for early 2026. The existing Danske Bank branch in Coleraine will remain open to customers until the move is complete.
