Councillors Updated As Coleraine BID Sets Out Next Steps
Nov 24, 2025
Councillors on the Leisure and Development Committee were briefed last week on the Council’s recent engagement with Coleraine Business Improvement District (CBID), as the organisation continues to refine its plans and shape its future direction.
Members were told that the first BID levy engagement session took place on 16 June at the Lodge Hotel, where local businesses were updated on recent personnel changes and activity planned for the summer season. A second session, held on 2 October, focused on progress to date, while a facilitated workshop invited levy payers to help map out priorities for the next phase of the BID’s work.
Recruitment for a new BID Manager remains ongoing, though the position of Events and Communications Officer has now been filled. Meanwhile, the CBID Board continues to meet monthly, with Robert Wilson of Riverhouse Coleraine recently appointed as Chair. Regular meetings also continue between CBID and the Council’s finance team, as outlined in the existing service-level agreement.
Quarterly updates are provided through the Coleraine Town Team, where Coleraine DEA councillors are represented, ensuring continued oversight and collaboration.
CBID representatives are expected to present formally to the Leisure and Development Committee in January 2026, offering councillors a detailed update on the new CBID Action Plan and its proposed next steps.
