Councillors Propose Permanent Joey Dunlop Exhibition

Causeway Coast & Glens Council has received a Notice of Motion from Alderman John McAuley, seconded by Councillor Mervyn Storey, calling for a permanent exhibition to honour motorcycle legend Joey Dunlop OBE MBE.
Marking the recent Joey Dunlop 25 Celebration, which drew thousands to Ballymoney from around the world, councillors said the event reaffirmed Dunlop’s enduring appeal.
If approved, officers will liaise with the Dunlop family to identify a suitable venue and curate memorabilia ranging from racing leathers and trophies to photographs and personal items.
Supporters say the exhibition will preserve local heritage, educate visitors and attract tourism throughout the year.
