Businesses across Coleraine town centre are set to see a new identity emerge for the town’s Business Improvement District (BID), with the organisation announcing it is to rebrand as Coleraine Connect.

The move marks a significant shift in how the organisation presents itself to businesses, visitors and the wider community, following a period of stakeholder engagement and the appointment of a new Board.

While the BID structure itself will remain unchanged, representatives say the new name reflects a renewed focus on transparency, communication and accountability, alongside efforts to modernise the organisation’s public image.

Coleraine Connect said the rebrand was designed to better reflect its role in bringing together businesses, opportunities and community initiatives across the town centre.

A spokesperson for the organisation said the change represented “the beginning of a new chapter” for the town centre body.

“There is a new Board, and with that comes a commitment to transparency, improved stakeholder engagement, and increased business value,” the spokesperson said.

“We have listened to feedback from businesses and stakeholders and understand that the term ‘BID’ can sometimes feel corporate or unclear. ‘Coleraine Connect’ better explains the role we play in connecting businesses, supporting initiatives and helping to strengthen the town centre.”

The organisation said its work would continue to focus on three main areas: supporting local businesses through marketing and promotion, delivering events and experiences aimed at increasing footfall, and improving communication and collaboration across the town.

The new branding is expected to be introduced across digital channels, marketing materials and future campaigns in the coming months.

This will include the launch of a new website designed to showcase Coleraine’s retail, hospitality, events and service offering.

Representatives say the rebrand also signals a more outward-facing approach, aimed not only at levy-paying businesses but also residents, visitors and potential investors.

“Coleraine is a town with strong community spirit, character and opportunity,” the spokesperson added.

“Coleraine Connect reflects that energy and supports a more modern, open and inclusive way of working with both the business community and the public.”

The organisation said it would continue to deliver on its existing business plan while working alongside local stakeholders, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, and the wider community to support the town centre’s long-term development.
