Castlerock Footbridge Reinstatement

A historic railway bridge in Castlerock is due to be reinstated next month following refurbishment works commissioned by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.

Contractors, Adman Civil Projects, have confirmed that installation of the refurbished structure will take place over three nights on Friday 17 April, Saturday 18 April and Sunday 19 April 2026.

The works are scheduled to be carried out between 11pm and 6am on each date.

Officials have said the current bridge will remain in place for a period following the installation phase, allowing for a managed transition.

Train services are not expected to be affected during the works.

Any queries or written representations in relation to the works should be directed to Mr Aidan McPeake, Director of Environmental Services at Council Offices, Riada House, Charles Street, Ballymoney BT53 6DZ on or before 17th April 2026.
