Bushmills One-Way System Proposal Open For Public Consultation
Oct 16, 2025
A new one-way traffic system is being proposed for Bushmills Main Street as part of a £6.8m regeneration plan under the £72m Causeway Coast and Glens Growth Deal.
The funding, backed by the UK Government and NI Executive, aims to support economic development across the region but depends on final government approval.
The plan would make Main Street one-way southbound between The Diamond and Bridge Street. Pavements would be widened, parking improved, and new public spaces created to make the village centre safer and more attractive.
Junctions at Priestland Road, Dunluce Road, and Bridge Street would be upgraded, while Dundarave Car Park would gain 38 extra spaces and relocated coach parking.
If the one-way system is not supported, the village would retain its current two-way layout, with only basic resurfacing works possible.
Residents can view plans at the Bushmills Visitor Information Centre and share feedback through an online or paper survey. The results will shape the final designs before funding approval.
