Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil Lands In Tesco NI Stores

Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil, the family-run producer founded by Richard and Leona Kane, has secured listings in 34 Tesco stores across Northern Ireland.

The farm’s 500 ml Single Estate cold-pressed oil is now available in all participating outlets and online, while its 250 ml Hickory Smoked and Rosemary & Garlic variants feature in 25 stores and on Tesco’s website.

The company traces its origins to a chance discovery in 2009. According to Ms Kane, one evening, a shortage of olive oil led her husband to suggest using their unfiltered, cold-pressed rapeseed oil. “We cooked two fillet steaks and made a salad dressing,” she recalled. “The flavour was so remarkable that we decided to launch the business two years later.”

In 2025, their dedication and innovation were honoured with a visit from The King and Queen, who toured their farm and home. Receiving the Royal seal of approval was a proud milestone, celebrating their commitment to sustainable farming and exceptional single-variety cold-pressed oils.
